A home can mean many things. Warmth. Good food. Family. It is where many of us go to feel safe and be with the ones we love. But for so many refugees families, home no longer exists.
In Greece, more than 50,000 refugees face another freezing winter. Having fled unimaginable horrors in their home countries, they now find themselves stranded in Greece and living in sprawling refugee camps. Many refugees are young children who have been separated from their families - there are now over 4,000 unaccompanied children in the country.
This Christmas, you can give these people a sense of home, despite their surroundings. The IRC has been responding in Greece since 2015; the height of the European refugee crisis. With your help, we provide immediate comforts such as warm blankets, shelter and emergency supplies, and long term assistance like education and job training.
Help us give families and children in Greece lifesaving support and a better start to 2020. Home may be far away for refugee and asylum-seeking families, but because of you, rescue is close by.
