Help people in Bangladesh and Myanmar
The devastating Cyclone Mocha has struck Bangladesh, further impacting already-vulnerable Rohingya refugees.
With telecommunications severely disrupted in Myanmar, it is difficult to fully assess the scale of the catastrophe. However, early reports indicate widespread damage, especially among displaced people, and the urgent needs of these vulnerable communications are expected to be substantial.
Before the cyclone struck in Myanmar, there were already 6 million people in need of humanitarian assistance and 1.2 million displaced. These numbers are likely to rise as the Cyclone continues its path.
The IRC is on the ground, providing an emergency response across Myanmar and 5 camps in Cox’s Baxar: deploying mobile medical units and protection services for women, girls, the elderly, and those with disabilities.
With your help, the IRC can continue to provide critical support where it’s needed most. Don’t wait: make your emergency gift today.
